Spend summer somewhere new

When thinking about where to spend your summer holiday, Christchurch may not be the first place that springs to mind.

But, it’s a city with endless activity options and is a great base for day trips to see more of the South – making the Comfort Inn Riccarton motel an excellent accommodation destination.

Whether you’re on a getaway for two or a family holiday, Comfort Inn Riccarton can accommodate, with rooms ranging from studios to three bedroom apartments all at affordable prices.

Owners Bob and Zeta Pringle know a thing or two about good old Kiwi hospitality and hard work – they come from a farming background.

“We were sheep and beef farmers in Hakataramea Valley, a small town an hour from Oamaru,” says Zeta.

“We farmed 7000 stock units on 3500 acres and decided to get into hospitality to try something new.”

Christchurch City has plenty to offer, from walking, biking or taking the gondola up the picturesque Port Hills to paddling along the Avon River and enjoying the wineries.

For the kids, there’s the award-winning Margaret Mahy playground, which is the largest play project ever built in New Zealand.

Getting to these intercity hotspots from Comfort Inn Riccarton is cheap and easy, as a bus stop is located directly outside.

Slightly further afield activities include the WWII heritage hike along the Awaroa/Godley head track and the scenic Mt Hutt.

“We’d love to see more people from the central North Island coming to see what Christchurch has to offer.

“We hope to see you soon.”
