A blazing line of fire burning through Queensland woodland is the winning image of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year People's Choice Award.
The drone photo shows a snippet of last year’s Australian bushfires, as it burns through land near the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve in Cape York.
The photographer, Robert Irwin, is the late Steve Irwin’s son.
“For me, nature photography is about telling a story to make a difference for the environment and our planet,” says Robert.
“I feel it is particularly special for this image to be awarded, not only as a profound personal honour but also as a reminder of our effect on the natural world and our responsibility to care for it.”
Wildlife Photographer of the Year is developed and produced by the Natural History Museum, London.
